What in heck is that, you might ask... Well, that is if you can actually see what is posted above. Sigh...
That is supposed to be the countdown widget to my most exciting Christmas present: a new MAC!!!!! My first new Mac in over a decade (my current Mac was a hand-me-down from my sister)!!!! Yes, I'm just a wee bit over the top! And why are we waiting until the Macworld Expo? Well, my dear friends, that is the "Comdex" of the Mac community. During the 5th through the 9th, all the Mac vendors will be revealing their most exciting new products for the year. Sometimes, prices on last year's models drop substantially. Sometimes, such outrageous advancements are announced that all Mac disciples scurry to their local computer store to grab up the sparkly new wonders.
Yes, my wonderful family... ALL of them... decided to get together and splurge on a new computer for me. My current computer doesn't have the power that I need to work with my art prints and graphics. Besides... Being that this particular machine is over 7 years old, it runs so slowly that I feel like I could run a marathon while it loads. Yeah, it is that slow.
With my new computer, I will be getting new software. YAY! No more running system 9.4 on my OS X computer! I'm finally going to be working on software from this millenium! How cool is that? No more crashing when I have a jpeg over 600 dpi! And I'll be able to open more than one window at a time without it freezing!
So, for the next week, I will probably be immersed in research as I pore over technical specifications. But, by the end of the month, you'll be able to call me Speedy Gonzalez!
